On the Road
So blogging is unlikely (that's different from normal....how?). And sadly, although Fox Sports World broadcast 3 matches yesterday, Arsenal's was not one of them. I downloaded the highlights though, and both goals--one from Thierry, the other from Bob--were very nice. Wednesday's game against Newcastle will be shown live, but I have other engagements, so it looks like my trip home to FSW-territory remains a football-bust.

Done.
First semester of the 1L year is behind me, and now that I'm back home I'm starting to appreciate how fully I was living within a bubble (comprising essentially no more territory than the 10 minute walk between my apartment & the library reading room). I'm no long surrounded by people who laugh archly upon the phrase "Replevin for a cow," and who don't find anything particularly funny about "officious intermeddlers." I think it's for the best. The downside is that I have done absolutely zero holiday shopping. Another downside is that in my post-Contracts exam rush I somehow packed only dirty laundry, which means I need to wait for the dryer to finish up before showering & starting my day.
Now that I'm on break hopefully I'll blog a bit more, and get back into the blogging habit for the "Winter Semester," as Michigan ludicrously dubs it (seriously, Winter begins in December--it's the Spring Semester fellas). The primary reason I read all the many law student blogs I did last year was to glimpse a preview of what law school life might be like--would it be as dreary & exhausting as the horror stories would have you believe, etc--and I thought it would be fun to keep a blog myself & return the favor to other maybe-Ls out there, pondering whether law school is for them. So I'll probably try to do a few posts reflecting on the semester & classes, but more likely I'll probably end up posting about soccer--finally I'm back to an area with Fox Sports World! I did manage to watch the ppv Arsenal-Chelsea clash a couple weeks back, but having taken time out of studying to watch it, I didn't feel like I had time enough to burn blogging about it. In any event, if there are any folks out there who have applied to Michigan & have somehow managed to stumble upon these parts, please feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions (I'll leave the address in comments).
For now, it's out into the madness of holiday shopping. Hurrah.
