Oh Nino, You So Crazy!
Thanks to this fine article in the Harvard Crimson, we can catch a glimpse of what to expect when Justice Antonin Scalia rolls into Ann Arbor later this semester. Among what sounds like an evening packed with fascinating outbursts, Scalia commented on the desirability of both the direct election of senators & orgies.
Admittedly, I would never have guessed that he's apparently opposed to the former & in favor of the lattter. Here's what he said:

Still Alive
Although from my failure to post in almost a month, you'd have good reason to believe otherwise.
For a while I'd considered shutting down the blog, partly because I wasn't sure I wanted to become known as 'that kid with the blog,' but mostly because I've been seriously bummed out by my inability to watch any soccer--after all, blogging about Arsenal had pretty much developed into roughly 75% of this site.
You see, in Ann Arbor Comcast doesn't offer Fox Sports World, period. Although you could get it in DC by paying a little extra, that's not an option here in MI (if you'd like to tell them that policy sucks, let 'em know here). I was all set to have satellite service--doublechecked with the landlord and everything--but when the installation guy came by, he immediately said the trees out back would be a problem. Apparently leaves block satellite reception. Ain't that super.
Going to bars around here isn't really an option either--good luck finding a bar with a TV to spare on a soccer match during college football Saturday. Maybe I just need to keep looking. If any of y'all out there know of a good place, please let me know.
Plus time management issues initially made me think I wouldn't have time to blog, but I think I've settled into a pretty good working routine that leaves me with plenty of free time (especially with my decision to give Comcast the finger & go without cable). I also needed some time to think about what I wanted to say about law school & how to say it, given the rather small community we all live in. Not that I had plans to sling insults at my classmates or professors, it's just knowing that any of my classmates & professors could very easily come across this is something to keep in mind. Although I'm blogging 'semi-anonymously,' I've certainly said enough to make identifying me awfully easy--really, how many other 1Ls are from Nebraska & huge Arsenal fans?
Lastly, I haven't really liked this name for some time now, and I've finally settled on a new one, so I'll be moving shortly. I'll keep a pointer here to the new addresss though. Friday's the due date for our first memo in Legal Practice, but hopefully this week or next blogging will resume something resembling a more regular schedule.
